I’m looking forward to checking out the Copehagen Gin Festival 2018 edition this weekend. I will be updating this post later for the full review. Also I’ll be posting on social media over the weekend. Come follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!
Gin as a spirits category has exploded in markets all across the globe and Denmark and Scandinavia are no exception. I’m hoping to check out some of Copenhagen’s awesome gin and cocktail bars too. The top tip from locals is to check out the meatpacking district!
Copenhagen Gin Festival 2018 16-17 February
Taking place over 2 days (Friday and Saturday) the Copenhagen Gin Festival is located at the Lokomotivværkstedet conference center, making this Scandinavia’s biggest gin festival.
The festival itself will be showcasing over 100 gins, from big names like Hendricks (seriously is there anyone in the world that hasn’t tried this gin yet?); to Berkeley Square from master distiller Joanne Moore; Monkey 47 and relative newcomer Malfy gin. There will also be smaller brands and local gins represented.
The ticket gets you entrance to the festival, a free tasting glass (tastes of the gin are free, g&ts are DKK50 each via their token system) for either 2.5 or 3 hour session (depending on time of day). There will also be food available (important when tasting a lot of strong spirits!)
The mixer side of the g&t equation is represented by sponsors Fentimans with their wide selection of tonics, with loads of different flavour profiles.
All this makes for a truly interesting gin experience – one that has enough to keep the keenest gin fiend interested, but also accessible for those new to gin to see what they like. Check back for my full review and experience.

*full disclosure – I’ve been invited to attend Copenhagen Gin Festival 2018 as a guest of the organisers, but all opinions will remain my own!*
