If you are a regular reader you’ll know that I’m down in Bath a lot as my family now lives there.
This weekend was the last one we would all see each other until after Christmas, as well as being the last weekend of the Bath Christmas market, so it seemed like a good plan to go visit and also check out the market this year.
There was great hot chocolate from Charlotte Brunswick chocolates – thick proper chocolate, none of this instant add milk stuff!
I was also excited to check out the gin options…
Everyone enjoyed the hot gin punch – with Bath gin, port and sherry (I think – it was deceptively easy to drink, hic!)
In the actual market there were stalls for cheese, toys, decorations, jewellery and most importantly gin and wine!
The 6 o’clock Gun bottle has been updated with a new fresh and festive design – they are the only gin company to make their own tonic to go with their gin – the perfect match!
Wraxhall were there promoting English wine – they must be the most local vineyard being in Somerset near the Mendip hills.
This was the medal winner – English sparkling rosé – made the same way as champagne, perfect for Christmas with some smoked salmon starters.
After buying a few bottles I stopped with the alcohol to indulge in Charlotte’s hot chocolate from Polar Bar – a hole in the wall selling mulled wine and hot chocolate:
Including this mucky pup!
Then we found the Bath Gin stall in the Christmas market:
The snow globe photo booth behind the Abbey hotel Après Ski hut went down well – lots of people were queueing for the opportunity to have their photo taken!
The Christmas market only runs for two weeks from late November to mid December every year, so you’ve missed out on the stalls for this year, but put it in the diary for next year! And of course there is still plenty of shopping in Bath outside of the market!
