Another autumn Sunday, another brunch!
This was was with the fabulous bloggers Em from Catch 52, Aftab from Fresh & Fearless, Angie from SilverSpoon London and May from Red Velvet London, and I finally managed to tick Kopapa off my list of places to try.
Kopapa isn’t a big space, just off off Seven Dials near Covent Garden, it’s a clean and bright room and was starting to fill up when I got there at 10.40 on Sunday morning (only 10 minutes late!)
The all important menu – the brunch is vast as you can see, with loads of eggy options, fry ups for the traditional and even healthy porridge (Angie was trying to be good!)
But the one thing on the menu that I had to try (and the rest of the foodies!) was the Turkish Eggs:
The Turkish eggs are poached and served with whipped yoghurt and hot chilli butter (that’s the orange floating on the top) and toast slices for dipping.
For me it was perfectly balanced, don’t be scared of the chilli butter, it’s not super spicy and despite the amount on the top, this dish still comes across as light – not rich and heavy. I think the whipped nature of the yoghurt helps keep it nice and light.
The toast makes dipping a must or you can do a combination of spreading and dipping! One of my new favourite egg dishes for brunch.
Angies’s porridge looked super tasty too – served with banana and blueberry compote on the side, this definitely looked healthier than the chilli butter….
I saw the fry ups, looking and smelling good (gotta love bacon!), going to other tables too – the menu has something for everyone.
Hmm coffee…. Skinny latte please!
I tried their coffee – both the latte and also the filter coffee, both packing a punch for flavour and caffeination (essential for me on a Sunday morning).
We spent a good two hours talking, sharing tips and gossip and eventually got gently reminded that they needed the table back…
So we moved the conversation to the Covent Garden Hotel for tea, but I will be back to Kopapa to check out their full menu and I can thoroughly recommend brunch!
