Famous for its romantic courtyard with fairy lights, Clos Maggiore is also good for intimate dinners with friends or family. I didn’t get to see the courtyard as we were upstairs in a cosy wood panelled dining room.

Slow cooked veal cheek with marrow croquette and the most gorgeous Madeira gravy (seriously their saucier chef is amazing!)

fought I mean shared this (it is meant for two!) with actual edible gold leaf (at least I hope so, we ate it anyway!), burnt honey ice cream and a very boozey tasty Armagnac jelly.
