Ice cubes
A special cocktail based on Bronx but tailored to Camden 🙂
Shake the ingredients together with ice, strain into a suitable glass and garnish with orange peel. If you can do it, tie the peel into a Half Hitch knot!

Classic Martini
A martini recipe is dependent on how you like it, dry or wet (quantity of vermouth & type of vermouth!), dirty / not (olives & olive juice or garnish with citrus). Note if you like dirty martinis try one with Gin Mare!
My mum, who is part of Gin Club, likes to coat the martini glass with a teaspoon of dry vermouth and then top up with ice cold gin from the shaker!
This is broadly what we had at the Half Hitch tasting, less vermouth for a dry martini, more for a wet one, add sweet vermouth for a ‘perfect’ martini.
60ml Half Hitch gin
5ml Dry Vermouth
Shake it up with plenty of ice and pour into a cold martini glass, garnish with orange peel for Half Hitch:
This was our attempt at a Half Hitch knot in a martini – think the peel wasn’t quite long enough!
The key point to bring out the flavour of Half Hitch is plenty of dilution, which means shaking that shaker to break up the ice and results in toned arms!
I think the best martini I’ve had was at 69 Colebrook Row, but its worth trying out different versions to find your preference, different gins will suit different preparations!
