Well Gin a Day May 2021 went quickly and now we are in June, with World Gin Day and World Martini Day just around the corner. I suggest that you start off celebrating with a gin and tonic on June 12th which is World Gin Day and then work up to a ‘real’ martini for World Martini Day on June 19th. Read on to find out all about World Martini Day 2021!
How to celebrate World Martini Day 2021
World Martini Day 2021 is brought to you by the martini lovers behind Martini Club U.K. They want to showcase the King of Cocktails in a way that is easily accessible for any consumers.
The focus is on ‘real’ martinis, defined as a white spirit (eg gin, vodka or even tequila!) mixed with an aromatised wine (eg vermouth, Sherry or Port). If the idea of a strong martini scares you then why not try a sweeter version like the Martinez. The combinations, especially when you factor in garnishes too, are endless!
When is World Martini Day in 2021?
World Martini Day is set to be a week after World Gin Day each year. For 2021 this is Saturday 19th June. As World Gin Day is always the second Saturday in June, this means that World Martini Day will always be the third Saturday in June, so mark your diaries now!
How to celebrate World Martini Day 2021?
Given that a lot of the world is still under Covid-19 restrictions, this global celebration will be a mixture of in person, virtual and at home celebrations.
In person/ bars
When I say in person I mean in a bar really. This is a great way to get guidance from bartenders on which martini suits you best. Some bars are also serving flights of mini martinis so you can try different serves, like Dirty, Wet and Dry, to find your favourite.
You can check out which bars are participating in World Martini Day 2021 on the website. A few I have my eye on (London based), include The Gibson Bar, The City of London Distillery, and Hensons Bar, which is doing mini martini flights:
Also I can’t forget the classic bars like Duke’s, which is famous for it’s ice cold martinis served from a classic cocktail trolley:
Virtual
Follow the @WorldMartiniDay and @MartiniClubUK accounts on Instagram and Facebook for IGTV lives. Brands that will be participating with virtual events will also be listed on the World Martini Day website. Don’t forget to use the #WorldMartiniDay hashtag.
At home
Invite your friends over and mix up your favourite martinis! Or if you need some inspiration check out the Martini Club UK website for the beginners guide to martinis and suggested recipes:
There are also pre-mixed martinis that you can buy to enjoy at home – just chill and follow the serving instructions. I have it on good authority that there will be some outstanding brands taking part, buy your pre-mixed martinis here.

I’ll definitely enjoy a gin this weekend, but likely to be a Negroni. On the 19th we are staying in a hotel in Skye so will make sure to try their Martini.
