Bath Gin at the Canary

I was down in Bath last week to say hello to my new nephew – little Dylan Hugo! And as is often the case this meant trying a new bar with the parents – I finally got to the Canary, the home of Bath Gin.

Mum & Dad outside the Canary.

Mum was on a mission to try Bath gin so she started off with a dry martini to better appreciate the flavours – apparently it was spicey and citrus heavy, probably from the kaffir lime leaf, not sure what impact the wormwood had, but she enjoyed it!

I had a Gin Mare dirty martini – which works as the botanticals include olives and Dad a Bath gin and tonic.

We also tried a Sacred Negroni using their spiced English vermouth which Mum loved, but I’m not a fan of the bitterness.

Er ok! I don’t need telling twice!

The Bath gin vat – they don’t have anything as small as bottles of the stuff here! You can see all the botanicals used to flavour the gin at the base – quite a selection.

If you can get yourself down there this weekend they have the final tasting of their 30 days of gin (September), with the Bath gin:

I’m sure we’ll be back! 😉
