An evening out central

On Wednesday I met up with Jordan as she was in London for work.

I met Jordan on my travels around this time last year. I was staying with one of her good friends Nicole (who I had met in Turkey) in DC. We went stand up paddle boarding, got introduced to the Dirty Chai and had a lovely meal for their friend Lauren’s birthday.

It’s great to catch up with people you’ve met whilst travelling – I have a lot of catch ups booked in over the next few weeks!

As Jordan was staying in Charing Cross I booked us a table at Brasserie Blanc in Covent Garden as they have a great terrace overlooking Covent Garden old market. Although we didn’t get a table outside (you can’t prebook those and the wait was 45 minutes) we still enjoyed the airy feel inside, despite it being the hottest week of the year!

Jordan, Lauren (a different one – kiwi Lauren) and I shared some starters and deceimated a bottle of prosecco with those and our mains. We decided to head out into Soho in search of dessert.

I had seen The Pudding Bar on twitter and so we headed there first – unfortunately they weren’t open ’til Saturday, so we couldn’t indulge – but by now you can!

They were lovely inbetween finishing off the painting they showed us the menu and gave us some Tokaji to taste – yum! Definitely going to head back to try their profiteroles before they pop off click here for details.

So we headed back up Wardour street to Licks as recommended by a friendly waiter from another restaurant (he wanted us to eat in his restaurant – but when we explained we’d eaten and were just looking for dessert, preferably something cold ,he recommended this ice cream place!)

Lick had loads of different flavours of gelato – I went with chocolate caramel – they have sorbets too, all very tasty!

This was a great introduction to the local area for Jordan – she will be back in December / January so I look forward to more catch ups!
