Last month, for a flatmate dinner, Laura and I decided to visit Mussel Men for their Lobster Tuesday’s special. This is a special evening one Tuesday a month at the pop up that celebrates British sea food.

The deal includes half a lobster with a side, a starter, a welcome drink and the night that we went, sea shanties from the City Shanty band.
We ordered extra oysters to start us off – lovely they were too!
The amazing seafood bisque – doesn’t look like much but the flavour was fantastic!

Our friend Tiva joined us – tempted by the lobster! And they squeezed her in to demolish her own half lobster, in under 9 minutes! Here’s the evidence:
They have good taste at Mussel Men with the Hendricks gin bottle as candle holder!
The choice of sides included fat chips, smoked haddock mash (so good we ordered extra!), peas and pancetta (also very good, you can improve everything with bacon!). All the food was extremely tasty and the cocktails went down well.

After our dinner serenaded by the City Shanty band – my favourite song was the one with the refrain ‘I spent all my tin on the girlies drinking gin!’ – we joined in on that one! We headed to Farr’s electic bar opposite Dalston Junction overground.
There wasn’t much dancing when we were there though :s
We had a few more drinks and then started playing with the props at Farr’s
