If you follow my blog you may have read my previous lists from Amsterdam – My Top 5 Amsterdam Museums, bikes of Amsterdam Photo blog and my visit to the House of Bols – but this isn’t everything we did on our long weekend, we even managed some free activities…. Read on to find out more!
Canal boat trip
We went up and down the canals – some of the major ones and some of the smaller ones, seeing more of Amsterdam that we would have on foot….
Walking – FREE, enjoy the sights of Amsterdam on foot
Make it more interesting by walking through the red light district and play hooker bingo… The rules are simple – select 5 attributes that you might expect to see and tick them off as you walk past the red lit shop fronts. Now the girls don’t like photos, so here are some other sights you might see in the red light district!:
Classic car
Classy rubber ducks!
The condomerie shop – for both practical and novelty needs!
These ladies looking out of their window through the boxes if tulips make a welcome contrast to the red lit doors
Visit the Library FREE Between Central Station & Nemo Science centre with great view from top floor cafe restaurant:
You can see the Nemo science centre Ipoh the left and all the boats moored up
Street food : not free but very cheap and good!
Free Dutch cheese tasters? Yes please – I think we tried them all!
But even better is Febo – the automated croquet machine!
Sate flavoured as Indonesian food is big here (due to the Dutch colonies out there)
Tiva tackling it!
Bitterballen – great with beer!
Oh yeah, beer!
And this was all mine…. I mean a typical Indonesian spread! (I shared, really!)
