This weekend I was away in Bath for a belated birthday celebration for my sister.
We took a leisurely cruise along the Kennet and Avon canal on the Lady Lena – the world’s oldest electric river launch.
We took along drinks and picnic lunch to eat whilst we cruised the canal, doing it in style with the bubbly, waving and toasting everyone we went past.
Detailed look at the stern flag, I can’t remember what it all means…
For more details take a look at their website: Lady Lena
After our cruise we headed back up to Mum and Dad’s new place for Sunday dinner. To give us a break between meals we sat on the terrace and did some Wales watching – from their position on the hill above Bath you can see the Brecon Beacons, Bristol and the Bristol suspension bridge if you borrow the binoculars!
With our Sunday roast we sampled some Moana Park wines that Mum and Dad had brought back from their New Zealand holiday.
The Syrah was very peppery with a hint of dusty road (eh Jonny!) and the Merlot Cabernet was a lot smoother and very easy to drink!
You can look forward to plenty more Bath posts to come over the next few months, now that half my family live there!
