Over Christmas my family and I visited the Longleat Festival of Light. As they all live in Bath, it’s only a half hour drive to visit Longleat and the safari park, but this time we didn’t go visit the park, the focus was the lights!
The gate lit up at dusk.
The Festival of Light is every Winter at Longleat and has been extended to Saturday and Sunday 9th & 10th and 16th & 17th January. Find out more and book tickets here: Longleat Festival of Light
And here is my photoblog to wet your appetite!
Whilst we visited Monkey island etc, my one year old nephew was more interested in the fake dinosaurs…
We did see some real animals – including this cheeky chappie, Longleat has the opportunity to see the Penguins up close and have your pictures taken with them!

Wow, this looks gorgeous! I never even knew this existed! If I'm ever in the area at the right time, I'll be sure to go.

Oh nice! Lovely & colourful pictures!

I love the clown fish! I come from Devon and I never even knew that this existed! I can't wait to get home and start exploring England through the eyes of a blogger, so actually start discovering these things!

That looks so magical! I love the juxtaposition of Chinese and British cultures in your photos. I can't imagine how trippy it must have been to see the modern and old style lanterns, traditional British architecture, and random penguins roaming around! How did the little one like it?
Katie Hughes says
They are very cute!

Thanks Claire, definitely worth looking out for other events too!

Glad you enjoyed Perrisha!

I agree Jessica – it's great to appreciate your own backyard as if you were a tourist!

Hi – it is an eclectic mix, but it does mean there is something for everyone. My nephew was fascinated by the dinosaurs and manta rays (real ones you can touch) and with the lanterns that moved and blew out bubbles.
