Last time I was up in Bath visiting the family I wrote about the Roman Baths this time it was all about treating ourselves in the spa 🙂
You’re not allowed to take photos in the Spa, so all the pics are from the Thermae Spa website

As a post baby pamper for my sister Liz, we decided to book treatments rather than just go chill out in the spa.
For £27 you get a 2 hour session with access to all the spa facilities – this includes the ground floor baths with lazy river and random jets of water, the steam rooms and the rooftop pool with great views over Bath.
The Steam room – there are 4 separate rooms with different ‘flavours’ of steam, e.g ginger and lemongrass, jasmine or eucalyptus, and a great big central shower that comes on at regular intervals and soaks you! There are also hot and cold showers in the room.
The rooftop pool – absolutely stunning even in the rain! Again there are jets that come on at regular intervals to massage you.
I thoroughly recommend grabbing a noodle, a floating length of foam, and literally just hanging out in the water and relaxing – sooo good!
We stopped for a quick coffee in the cafe – if you use the cafe they give you additional time to stay in the spa as they acknowledge you can’t take food & drink in with you. The cafe charges you on to your wrist band, which is also used as the means of locking up your personal things in the lockers. So you don’t need to carry anything with you when you are wandering around the spa.
As for treatments, Liz and I had the reviver facial and mum tried the hot stones pedicure. The facial was nice enough – so relaxing that I almost fell asleep! Mum thought the hot stones were a bit of a gimmick, they felt nice, but the actual pedicure didn’t get rid of the dead skin in her heels and doesn’t include nail colours.
Reviver facial is £42 for 30 minutes
Hot stones pedicure is £50 for 50 minutes
The added benefit of booking a treatment is that you get a robe, towel and slippers included. Normally you have to bring your own towel & flipflops or you can hire the towel, robe and slippers for an additional charge.
I’ve been to the Spa before – both with friends and family and it’s fun to go in a group. I would recommend booking if you intend to to at a busy time e.g. Evening or weekend. They have packages which include food & drinks in the cafe, entrance to the main spa and or treatments. The twilight package where you can see the sunset from the rooftop pool are really popular too!
I would recommend the Spa for a girlie treat with your friends. If you go with your boyfriend – no PDAs please! It’s just not right!!
