Last weekend I decided to enjoy the unseasonably warm autumnal weather with a walk around Regents Park.
Whilst there I walked past the huge hanger set up for the Frieze Masters art fair. Tickets had all sold out for this, but there was a free alternative – the Sculpture Park open to all further on in the park.
The most incomprehensible map I’ve ever seen! Even when I recognised one sculpture I couldn’t work out which way this was orientated :s
One of the ‘spectators’ appreciating the song in the round by standing in the middle – ‘Where did you sleep last night’ by Kristin Oppenheim
All sorts of people were interacting with the sculptures – including having a cuppa and a sandwich despite the no touching signs!
So due to me taking a while to write this up you can’t visit Frieze Sculpture Park now – but keep your eyes peeled for next years! There is still plenty to see and do in Regents Park – whether it’s feeding the ducks in the ponds, walking around the formal gardens, watching/playing some pick up footie by the sports pitches, going to the Zoo or just grabbing a coffee in one of the cafés – perfect Autumnal activities!
Nb nearest tube for the Zoo is Camden Town or Chalk Farm, Regents Park station is at the South side of the park and a bit of a walk.
