Where is a perfect outing for a nine year old’s birthday?
London Zoo of course!
Whilst not cheap at £18 per child (gulp! Thankfully we had some vouchers from Tesco club card to pay for it) it’s worth a full day. Keep costs down as we did and take your own packed lunch and snacks.
Situated in Regents Park, the Zoo is a 15 minute walk from Camden Town tube, or a 274 bus ride for tired little legs.
Through to the Dragon Kingdom:
Pretending to be a Galapagos giant tortoise – just like me!
Reptile House:
Errghh toads in the shower (you don’t want to see what was in the toilet!!)
Gorilla Kingdom:
Into the mists…. There was a zoo baby – we didn’t see it, but everyone had to be really quiet as the Dad was very protective!
Penguin beach:
But the most fun was had by the bug house where they run kids activities, this half term it was caterpillars to butterflies!
Emerging out the other side
Vicuñas – I saw some in South America!
We then moved to see the Black Capped Squirrel Monkeys
Animal Adventure!
The kids always love this area in the zoo
They get to play in the tunnels & pretend to be meerkats
Then there is the petting zoo…
All the goats crowding for food, I mean attention….
Tiger Kingdom:
Then on the final leg to the promised land of the gift shop….
