Those of you who read Stylist as avidly as I do may have seen & signed up for their brunch club via the Emerald Street email.
The idea of this is every week they promote a different place to have brunch with some sort of special deal thrown in for us as a sweetener.
So last weekend I dragged my very hungover flatmate and a more sprightly Tiva to Fable on Holborn Viaduct. This is essentially a city bar – covering 3 floors it gets FULL on a Thursday/Friday night. But on a Sunday morning it was mainly closed off with just a smattering of brunchers on the ground floor.
The deal was £15 brunch with unlimited prosecco!
The bar itself is spacious with high ceilings, clean lines and beautifully decorated with small touches such as the table in a booth made out of stacked (and stuck together!) books, plants both living and fake and whimsical writings scattered about.
So how was the brunch, apart from being a damn good deal?! Well there was the option of unlimited pastries and a vast selection of traditional and non traditional dishes.
Whilst Laura stuck to Eggs Royale (benedict with smoked salmon), Tiva and I went off piste with the Californian breakfast and Sweetcorn fritters.
Californian breakfast – poached eggs on rye with houmous, avocado, mushrooms and sweet chilli salsa. Very tasty and gone in 10 minutes!
I would come back here for brunch again if it included a drinks deal. I think even without the drinks the food was decently priced and if you aren’t adverse to heading into the city on your day off, it makes a good start to day a of shopping, which is what we did! They serve 9am-2pm and have the weekend papers for you to peruse.
